Puppy and Kitten Health / Wellness Exams

Congratulations on the new addition to your Family!

Our Health and Wellness program is designed to give them the best start possible. These first few months are so critical as you are literally building the adult dog or cat who you will share your life with. We are happy to offer you information and support to help your puppy or kitten grow into a healthy as well as socialized family member.

It is recommended that puppies and kittens receive Vaccines at 8, 12 and 16 weeks of age. We refer to this as their "Core Vaccine Series". This ensures their immune system is boosted against serious illnesses, as well as allows your Veterinarian to monitor their development. This is also an opportunity to answer all your questions about training, behavior, nutrition, safe and lifestage appropriate diet choices, dental care, deworming, exercise, and spaying and neutering procedures.

Deworming is one of the crucial first steps in developing a health care plan for your new pet. Puppies and Kittens are at increased risk of contracting an internal parasite infection. A caring mother will inadvertently infect her offspring in the process of cleaning them. Additionally, parasites can be transferred in utero and through the mother's milk, as well as the environment. We can advise a parasite prevention plan to keep both your pet and your family healthy.

The Wellness Visit usually concludes with many treats being offered!
